"WWOOOHH!!!! I´ll never
forget this incredible experience", my daughter Alejandra
said. After an hour of thinking she decided to jump in
Bungee...
Margarita
offers the best of the best in sports. From the extreme
emotion of a Bungee jump to horse-back riding along of endless
sandy beaches and clear waters. Flying in an ultra-light plane
or riding the winds by parasailing is just some of the things
to do on this great island.
Bungee It falls in what we call today´s extreme sports
category. Sometimes is also called madness by many people.
This activity has a great number of followers. It is a great
show for the observer and a complex debate with yourself about
the decision to make the first jump and the sensation
experienced by the ones who do it.
Playa El Agua and Playa Parguito are the only two places
that offer this attraction on the island.
Parapente
An activity for people in search of extreme emotions. Usually
you can see this jumps during the weekend, we observed them
from the surrounding mountains by the beaches, taking
advantage of the winds and the thermal current.
Ultra-light planes
It is becoming one of the most popular activities in this
island. The low altitude flights over beaches and towns allow
you to appreciate the most beautiful view with the opportunity
for amateur and professionals photographer to get the most
incredible pictures. The services in Playa El Agua are the
most popular.
Horseback riding
Who has not imagined to ride on a white sandy beach of clear
waters or perhaps to gallop on a savanna or simply ride in the
mountains? Margarita offers many possibilities, relies on
guides and camp services there will offer this activity.
Icarus Another popular sports that allow you to fly over
the most beautiful Caribbean beaches and to have a birdseyes
view of the cities and little towns in the island. Dominating
the wind and the air currents is part of this difficult
discipline reserved only for the most fearless.
Diving
Under water Margarita Island... Warm and clear waters and a
huge diversity of submarine species makes Margarita Island and
its archipelagos the most wonderful opportunity of making this
journey the vacations of a lifetime. Places like Los Frailes,
with its group of small keys offering natural transparent
lagoons ideal for diving and snorkeling. El Farallon, in the
northwest of the island, a rocky formation located 3 miles
from Pampatar Bay, is nothing more than an appetizer before
going on to the impressive sites you will find in places like
Los Roques Archipelago, Los Testigos and the Blanquilla
Island, leaving for the more adventurous the nocturnal dives
in Cayo Norte at the National Park Morrocoy, only known by the
expert dare devils.
These
locations have very little rain during the year making them
very low in silt content maintaining waters extremely clear
and with a visibility up to 30 meters (100 feet) and
temperatures around 25 ºC on average. Margarita also counts
with a reliable infrastructure of diving centers very capable
of organizing excursions for small or big groups and all of
them licensed by the international organizations.
